Ruben Valentin "El Embajador de la Salsa"
Many Southern California radio listeners recognize Ruben Valentin as the spontaneous, flamboyant, unpredictable, hilarious and irresistibly clever disk jockey in the days of station XPRS (10.90 AM). Ruben says, "A listening audience is like a woman who wants to be seduced and for that you have to be very personal with your audience."
His friends think of him affectionately as genuine, pleasant and talented but all salsa lovers acknowledge Ruben Valentin as "El Embajador de la Salsa" for the State of California. Trying to convince any salsa lover to the contrary would be like trying to smuggle daylight past an alert rooster.
Our "Salsa Embajador" began his radio broadcasting career under the tropical sun of Guayama, Puerto Rico, where as a high school student he was involved in all cultural and social events of his hometown. He attended the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras and played semi-professional baseball. Ruben Valentin is currently a Sports Announcer for Fox Spanish Television.
