DJ Adrian Treto "Salsiquico", from Los Angeles, California.
Originally from Mexico city Adrian has been in the salsa music business for 14 years as a salsa dancer, promoter, musician, broadcaster, critic, writer and producer. He is one of the world's best DJs from the legendary Mayan Club in Los Angeles California (USA). Adrian was one of the DJ's to spice up the 2002 Mayan World Salsa Competition, the most famous dance competition in the world.
He has been chosen to DJ at the West Coast Salsa Congress for 3 years in a row. He DJs and MCs at the most important festivals in L.A every year; Cuban Festival with 30,000 participants, The Annual Puerto Rican Festival with 50,000 participants, The Colombian Festival, and other important salsa festivals. His latest honor has been to be chosen the best salsa DJ at the Vancouver Salsa Congress 02 and best DJ during the first Miami Salsa Congress 2002.
He was the pioneer of the first internet salsa radio at www.saborsalsa.com. He also hosted and produce many salsa radio shows, not to mention that he has become a very well known salsa critic and his notes can be found in different magazines in various languages.
Adrian was asked by Discos Fuentes to write the presentation for the latest Sonora Carruseles' CD "De Una Vez Gozando".He promoted salsa artists like Celia Cruz, Marc Anthony, Tito Puente, Ricky Martin, Son By Four, Gloria Estefan, Oscar D'Leon, Camilo Azuquita, Melcochita, to mention a few. As A DJ he has represented Los Angeles, California at events all over the world (Ottawa, Italia, Roma, Japan, China,Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and more.
Due to Adrian's unique DJ style he has been named DDJ (Dancing DJ) because he likes to join his crowd and dance on the dance floor at the while he keeps the music going. He says that he loves to feel the heat of the dance floor and gets his energy from dancers. Dancing keeps him in touch with the audiences momentum and thus is inspired to play the right tunes throughout. Adrian jokingly likes to refer to himself as the "worst DJ" in the world but his music will speak for itself; if there is a dance floor, somebody dancing!
"On 2003 he started his "DDJ Tour " in different countries and we had the enormous pleasure to wish him a good welcome to Norway." DJ Adrian will give one special workshop for DJs (open for all) where he will teach mixing, how to compose a playlist, use of microphone and more.
In the 2004, Adrian was chosen once again to be part of the new production of Sonora Carruseles and his liners are part of the new CD of this glorious Colombian Band
